2022 Recap

Happy New Year!

Thanks for joining me on my new site, where I’ve brought together all of the media I’ve been creating over the years.

Each year I typically do a more formal recap of a month to month how my year went but instead I’ve been pretty flat out busy between the day job and being a partner, a dad, a son, a friend, a coworker..

So I decided to just limit it specifically to project updates.

Legends of Lys – My main comic title saw a lot of movement in 2022. At the start of the year we debuted the Legends Of Lys Annual #2: The Curse of Red Fang on the in the shade website. This was a lot of fun to work on and I had been interested in another tale with Talos and Grell for awhile. This was released weekly and is still up to read for free. The Amber Festival is also out now and available in Trade Paperback, Volume 3 is in progress I am currently working on Issue 12 (Part 3 of Sibling Rivalry) with the hopes of it being finished by the end of 2023. I’ve also been writing an outline for the annual that will follow sibling rivalry because I’m itching to get back to Talos story.

Current Status: Volume 3 in progress, Annual 3 is in plotting stages. Volumes 1 and 2 available now. Issues 1 & 2 are available to read for free on the site now!

Fenrir & The Escape From The Deep: The sister book to Legends of Lys is done! All issues and an epilogue are lettered, I spent a chunk of the fall really cleaning up pages and reworking some of the beginnings of the story. I’m excited to share the next major graphic novel I’ve been developing for some time and i have intentions of a physical release of the book in 2023. Keep a look out for some announcements around Halloween season 2023! For now check out some of the pages on my site here.

Current Status: Completed, physical release in 2023.

The Expeditions Of Atlas Clarke: The third In The Shade title that is written by Cory Lahue and drawn by me also made really strong movement this year. We are wrapping issue 6 right now and making some revisions to old pages and covers to keep my art style consistent with the progress I have made over the last year. Looking back I’m realizing how much time I actually spent drawing atlas the last year and how much I really enjoy it. I feel really invested in the characters and have enjoyed the twists and turns in our storytelling.

Current Status: In Progress, last pages of the final issue are being worked on. Physical release in 2023.

Fenrir & The Feral Swordsmen - the next Fenrir story that is already outlined and going through some revisions. I have been designing characters and feeling excited to bring the next tale of my resident Wolf Guy into the world. I will say I’m bringing Fen to Lys and onto other adventures with Pom. I’m excited to introduce new characters that I’ve created in D&D games and others that are returning favorites. I’m excited to work on this next chapter for Fen.

Current Status: Pre-production; Character designs in progress and script refining.

Legends Of Lys: War Of The Storms - the fourth volume of legends has been up in the air for some time. I am outlining and designing characters for what will be one of the biggest stories Ive ever worked on. Very excited for this to come. It will be some time before it is ready as I have most of Volume 3 to still work through and setup.

Current Status: Pre-Production; Character designs in progress and outlines in progress.

Other Projects

 The Ten Rings: The novel continues, I am into Part 2 still and haven’t made much progress over the last few months with this. I have gone back through Part 1 and made some revisions but my overall progress is slow. I’m currently needing to research and map out a particular fortress like location and it’s hard for me to visualize. The next block of time I have for Ten Rings I would like to finalize an outline for parts 2&3.

Current status: In Progress; I’m currently working on the 2nd part to the book. I’ve completed part 1 and its interludes and have parts 2 and 3 outlined.

One Halloween Night– An anthology comic I’ve been kicking around for some time. I have a few issues laid out but not sure if Im going to keep pushing this. I would like to do a one shot for next halloween but we will see what progress I make.

Hypershock: I did not make any new progress with Hypershock in 2022.
Current Status: Paused.

Tendonitus Vol. 1 – Artbook that I have been teasing for a few years showing behind the scenes look and sketches of projects as I work on them. I did not make any progress with this in 2022.
Current Status: Paused.
