July Update

Welcome to July

The last month has passed so quickly that some initiatives I previously had in motion for this month have needed to be pushed. This is unfortunate but I need to be realistic and give myself some flexibility to handle other day job related things that come my way but also to keep pace with legends work.

I’ll start with my print sale for HAWC, Which is an organization helping victims of abuse and getting them supports they need. HAWC has an annual walk to raise money each June and while I was not able to join the walk this year I wanted to do my part and try and raise some money for the organization. If you feel inspired to donate, email me a copy of your donation at brandon.gorski87@gmail.com and I will send you some art as a thank you. The Print sale will officially start on 7/30/23 and run until 8/30/23.

June was chock full of private commissions. I love getting to work on animal portraits and really bring to life customer companions. I also included a personal pet portrait of my family cat, Jinx, that we lost a few years ago. I felt really compelled to immortalize him forever with some art, I really do miss him. As June turned into July I still have several commissions on the docket to complete while I jump between Legends Of Lys volume 3 pages. Speaking of which…

Legends Vol. 3 rages on and Im entering the last 10 or 12 pages of the issue. The real challenge with this issue has been that the backgrounds are just a field that characters are battling in, so Im looking at reference and how other comics handle this to inform some of what im doing. As always there is a focus on choreography with fight scenes and stylized powers which I am having a blast with. Im hoping by this time next month I’m closing out of the last issue of the volume and moving into the Annual. I have some preliminary character designs ive been playing with for that, more to come!

that pretty much sums up June to July for me. I’ll leave you with this image from Atlas Clarke which has also just gone through final revisions and back from the Printer! It is gorgeous! order one now at the link:

One last item about Fall, I had previously announced an Anthology of Halloween short stories and comics which I’ve ultimately decided I’m not ready to take on quite yet. For now I will maintain my active projects as Legends Vol 3, the annual and then Fenrir Vol. 2.

thanks for reading! see you next month!
